Nicole is working on a dissertation that examines when and why undergraduates continue to develop ideas written about in class beyond the classroom, and she is looking for students to share their writing and speak about their experiences with her. The students she hopes will contact her will have current or completed projects that originally began as class writing, for example, research papers, written notes, freewriting, poetry, lab reports, press releases, etc.
Participant Criteria: Participants will have a project that began from class writing (for any class, not just English) and developed into something beyond the class. Those who are willing to join the study must be current undergraduate students and/or recent alumni (graduated in the past two years). Students who participate in this study may come from anywhere in the U.S., any type of higher education institution (2-year, 4-year, public, private, online, etc.), and a range of majors. The study has IRB approval (St. John’s University IRB Protocol # 1013 048).
